In accordance with the requirements of Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (“ADA”), the City of West Sacramento will not discriminate against qualified individuals with disabilities on the basis of disability in its services, programs, or activities.
Employment: The City of West Sacramento does not discriminate on the basis of disability in its hiring or employment practices and complies with all regulations promulgated by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission under Title I of the ADA.
Effective Communication: The City of West Sacramento will generally, upon request, provide appropriate aids and services leading to effective communication for qualified persons with disabilities so they can participate equally in the City of West Sacramento’s programs, services, and activities.
Modifications to Policies and Procedures: The City of West Sacramento will make all reasonable modifications to policies and programs to ensure that people with disabilities have an equal opportunity to enjoy all of its programs, services, and activities. For example, individuals with service animals are welcomed in the City of West Sacramento offices, even where pets are generally prohibited.
If you or your child require accommodation to participate in a City program, service or activity, or to access a facility, please let us know by submitting this Request for Reasonable Accommodation Form at the time of your registration or enrollment, and in any event no later than 72 hours in advance of the first date of the program, service, activity, meeting or other event, in order to allow the City sufficient time to process your request and make appropriate accommodations if they are approved. Please note: Due to difficulties in securing American Sign Language Interpreters or Braille services, five or more business days’ notice is strongly recommended for such requests. Upon review, the City will determine if additional information or documentation may be required to process your request.
The ADA does not require the City of West Sacramento to take any action that would fundamentally alter the nature of its programs or services, or impose an undue financial or administrative burden.
